Terroir Adventure Travel was founded by Megan Hall, Ph.D., a professor in Wine Studies at Linfield University who built the company around the idea of terroir: the connection between land, history, culture, and the food a place produces.

Every trip is capped at 8 travelers, personally researched and traveled by Megan before it's offered, and led by a local guide who lives in the place you're visiting.
As a professor of Wine Studies, terroir is a term I spend a lot of time teaching. It's the connection between the land, history, soil, climate, culture, people, and food we eat. It's the core of my approach to group travel.
By the end of each trip, I want you to have a strong snapshot of the culture you've been immersed in. I want you to come home with new feelings and thoughts about the place you visited and the people you met.
I take every trip myself before I offer it to you. I only hire local guides, and I work with them to set the itinerary before I take it. I know them, I have answers to the questions you're probably going to ask, and you'll get to know them too.
Each trip is capped at 8 people, which I've found is the magic number: enough for real community, small enough that everyone can hear and ask questions of the guide.
