Fly south to Luxor, ancient Thebes. Visit Karnak, the largest religious complex ever built. Shaped by two thousand years of rulers responding to same flood cycles and sacred geography. At sunset, explore Luxor Temple. Stay at a B&B on West Bank, nestled into fruit trees and sugar cane fields.

Start before dawn with a hot air balloon flight over the Nile River Valley, with fields, villages, and temples laid out below. Explore the Valley of the Kings, the terraced temple of Hatshepsut, and the Noble Tombs, where painted tombs show daily agricultural life: harvesting, wine pressing, animal husbandry. Shop at the local market and take a traditional cooking class with sisters and their mother at their home.

Drive north through fertile villages to Abydos. Visit Temple of Seti I, known for precision and symbolic king lists. Continue to Dendera and Temple of Hathor, goddess of fertility, music, and joy. Location, alignment, and decoration speak directly to cycles of renewal tied to land and water. Return to Luxor.

Transfer to Esna and board traditional dahabiya sailing boat. This is where the trip slows down. Visit Temple of Esna, stroll local markets, then sail south. Stop at El Kab, ancient settlement with cliff-cut tombs overlooking the river. Dinner on board or along riverbank. Swim in the Nile. The crew will prepare a BBQ on the banks of the Nile. Dine under open skies.
